Barbara Prisament is an independent public relations and marketing professional with over three decades of experience. She currently consults for arts, cultural organizations and municipalities throughout the Hudson Valley including Caramoor Center for Music & the Arts, Historic Hudson Valley, and the Jacob Burns Film Center. She began her career promoting prominent recording artists at major record labels including Elektra, Chrysalis, and Capitol Records where she served as the East Coast Label Director. She co-founded and programmed the Take Me To The River Music & Arts Festival, co-created and produced the RiverArts Music Tour, and is the Downtown Advocate for the Village of Hastings-on-Hudson. Barbara holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing from Lehigh University, where she was Music Director of the college radio station, and a Master of Science degree in The Art of Teaching from Sarah Lawrence College.

    Strategize media planning including digital, print, radio and local television buys for impact and efficiency. Leverage said buys for both editorial and promotional gain.

    Relationship cultivation with like-minded cultural organizations and community leaders for cross-promotional opportunities.

    Extensive experience planning and programming community and large scale events including, but not limited to, the Take Me To The River Music & Arts Festival, the Hastings-on-Hudson Sunset Concert Series, the RiverArts Music Tour, and REV FEST 250.

  • Downtown Improvement & Marketing

    Consultant for Municipalities looking to support local business and increase the vitality of their commercial districts by minimizing empty storefronts, creating engaging community events, and promoting the downtown for increased foot traffic amongst both residents and visitors.
